"Winter Poem" - Elionai Zaerahiah

Lightning over hill

Clouds over head

take me back where I belong

to the home I left

I thought I'd find it here

out among the stars

A siren song led me along

Turned me round and round

But I was wrong to follow another's sleeping wish

My dying soul, my living body, corrupted in the flesh

Take me home where I belong

Lightning on the hill

Clouds over head

Thunder lament

Purely of the divine, still somehow, oversaid

My song is buried still

I wouldn't ask for you to take up a shovel and dig with

me

But I could use your hands.

When the work is done

I promise I will love like only a free man can.

Soft and gentle

Taking my sweet time.

No rush to get anywhere,

We never truly left.

Getting to know your body

Like the thunder knows mine.

11

Lightning over hill

Electric on your skin

Hairs stand up on edge

As I come closer in.

Still, somehow, inside you, we never truly touch.

While this magnetic happening still gives us such a rush.

If I knew where I'd come from

I never would have left.

I'd stay here forever curled up in your breast

Listening to your heartbeat

Thunder rolling in my head

The power of your heart

Held within the starry sky

I never would have left.
